Jalandhar, October 5, 2026: Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, Jalandhar, commemorated the 107th birth anniversary of its Founder Chairman, Dr. Stya Paul, with a special Founder’s Day programme celebrating his contribution to education and his lifelong emphasis on values, character and excellence.
The programme was organised under the leadership of Principal A.K. Sharma and brought together students, teachers, parents and members of the school community in remembrance of the educationist and visionary founder.
The celebration began with a special morning assembly, during which Principal A.K. Sharma, the Vice-Principal, teachers, parents and students paid floral tributes to Dr. Stya Paul.
The atmosphere became devotional as students presented some of the founder’s favourite bhajans, setting the tone for a programme centred on gratitude, reflection and values.
Students Present Cultural Programme on Human Values
A series of cultural and educational activities formed part of the Founder’s Day celebrations.
Students presented thoughts and talks based on moral values and the philosophy reflected in Apeejay Education’s motto, “Soaring High Is My Nature.”
A short play based on the same theme highlighted the importance of ambition, perseverance and strong character in achieving meaningful success.
Students also presented a poem inspired by the idea of “Soaring High Is My Nature”, reinforcing the message that education should encourage young people not only to achieve academically but also to develop into responsible and compassionate individuals.
A video highlighting the life and contributions of Dr. Stya Paul was shown to students during the programme.
Through the presentation, students were introduced to his journey, educational vision and the principles that continue to guide institutions established under Apeejay Education.
Students Honoured With Dr. Stya Paul Award
One of the important highlights of the celebration was the presentation of the Dr. Stya Paul Award for Human Values.
Students including Guneet Gupta, Lavanya, Nanki and Ashvi Verma were recognised during the ceremony for demonstrating values and qualities associated with the award.
The recipients were presented with certificates, a copy of Dr. Stya Paul’s book “Reflections in Time”, and a monetary award.
The recognition is intended to encourage students who demonstrate qualities such as honesty, compassion, integrity, discipline and respect in their everyday lives.
The award reflects the broader educational philosophy that academic achievement alone does not define a successful student and that human values remain equally important.
Principal Reads Message From Sushma Paul Berlia
During the programme, Principal A.K. Sharma read a message from Sushma Paul Berlia, President of Apeejay Education, commemorating the life and legacy of Dr. Stya Paul.
Addressing students and those present at the celebration, Sharma described Dr. Stya Paul as a true Karmayogi whose life offered valuable lessons in determination, hard work and service.
He encouraged students to draw inspiration from the founder’s journey and apply similar principles to their own lives.
The Principal said that education becomes truly meaningful when knowledge is combined with character, purpose and a commitment to contribute positively to society.
Founder’s Vision Continues to Guide Students
Dr. Stya Paul’s educational philosophy placed strong emphasis on holistic development and the creation of individuals capable of contributing to both society and the nation.
Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, which began functioning in 2002, follows the larger educational philosophy of combining academic excellence with character building and human values.
Founder’s Day therefore serves not only as a remembrance ceremony but also as an opportunity for students to understand the principles behind the institution’s educational approach.
The activities organised during the programme encouraged students to reflect on qualities such as perseverance, integrity, compassion and responsible leadership.
Vote of Thanks Concludes Celebration
The programme concluded with Vice-Principal Lovelyn Bagga expressing gratitude to the parents, teachers, students and all those involved in organising the Founder’s Day celebration.
She thanked participants for helping make the occasion meaningful and for contributing to the school’s tribute to its founder.
The 107th birth anniversary celebration ultimately combined remembrance, cultural expression and student recognition while reinforcing Dr. Stya Paul’s enduring message of striving for excellence without losing sight of human values.
For the students of Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, the occasion served as a reminder that “soaring high” means not only achieving personal success but also growing into responsible and ethical members of society.
