Jalandhar October 19, 2026 : Congress leader and former Punjab Brahmin Welfare Board director Ravish Raj Sharma on Monday launched the “Nafrat Ke Bazaar Mein Mohabbat Ki Dukaan” campaign in Jalandhar, aimed at directly interacting with residents and listening to their concerns.
The initiative was launched near the Tehsil Complex, where a specially prepared cart has been set up. As part of the campaign, Sharma plans to serve tea to residents while encouraging them to discuss civic issues, problems and suggestions concerning the city.
Sharma said the purpose of the initiative is to provide people with a platform where they can openly raise their concerns and have those issues taken up with the concerned authorities. He said feedback received from residents during the interactions would be conveyed to the administration.
During the launch, Sharma also criticised the functioning of the state government, alleging that people raising their voices on public issues were not being heard adequately. These remarks represent his political position and allegations.
Several residents participated on the first day of the campaign and shared their concerns and suggestions while interacting with Sharma over tea.
According to Sharma, the initiative will continue across different parts of Jalandhar. He said the cart would be taken to different city parks every Sunday, while interaction sessions with residents are also planned between 6 am and 7 am on other days.
Sharma said the campaign also seeks to take Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s message of “Mohabbat Ki Dukaan” to people and promote harmony and brotherhood within society.
The initiative is expected to focus on direct public interaction, with issues raised by residents being documented and subsequently brought to the attention of the relevant authorities.
