Jalandhar, October 23: With the Asian Hockey Championship 2026 scheduled to begin on October 27, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has stepped up preparations to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the international sporting event. As part of these preparations, the Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar, visited Olympian Surjit Singh Hockey Stadium at Burlton Park to review the security arrangements ahead of the championship.
During the inspection, the Police Commissioner assessed the security preparations at the stadium and issued necessary directions to the concerned police officers. The review focused on ensuring comprehensive security arrangements, effective coordination among officials and a safe environment for everyone attending the tournament.
The upcoming championship is expected to bring together hockey players, team officials, spectators and sports enthusiasts.
