Jalandhar, October 22 : Vehicle theft continues to remain a concern in several parts of the city, with another motorcycle theft being reported from Qazi Mohalla under the jurisdiction of Police Station Division No. 3. In the latest incident, a Royal Enfield Bullet was allegedly stolen from outside a house during the early morning hours.
According to Lav, son of Brij Mohan, the black Royal Enfield Bullet bearing registration number PB08 FA 3917 had been parked outside their residence as usual. The motorcycle was reportedly taken away at around 3:30 am, while the family was inside the house.
Lav said that when he came outside at approximately 7:00 am, he noticed that the motorcycle was no longer at the spot where it had been parked. After searching nearby, the family checked CCTV footage from the area. The footage allegedly showed a person approaching the motorcycle and leaving the location with it.
The family later approached Police Station Division No. 3 and submitted a complaint regarding the theft. According to the complainant, police officials assured them that the matter would be investigated and efforts would be made to trace the motorcycle and identify the person seen in the CCTV footage.
The victim claimed that nearly two days had passed since the incident, but they had not received any information regarding the recovery of the motorcycle at the time of reporting. The family has requested the police to examine CCTV footage from nearby streets and possible exit routes to help trace the stolen vehicle.
The incident has once again raised concern among residents over repeated thefts reported from different localities falling under the same police jurisdiction. In recent times, theft complaints have also surfaced from areas including Mai Hiran Gate and Khingra Gate, where commercial establishments were allegedly targeted.
Residents say repeated incidents have created a sense of insecurity, particularly among people who have to park their two-wheelers outside their homes at night. The complainant has urged police to identify the suspect at the earliest and recover the stolen Royal Enfield Bullet.
