Amritsar, October 4, 2026: The investigation into the killing of social media influencer and makeup artist Mad Sandhu, also known as Madhusudan, has taken a fresh turn after another purported audio recording surfaced on social media claiming responsibility for the murder.
The recording, whose authenticity has not yet been officially confirmed by police, reportedly names Goldy Dhillon, Lucky Johal and Mani Paddu in connection with the killing.
This comes after an earlier social-media post attributed to Goldy Dhillon and Jagga Tarn Taran had also claimed responsibility for Mad Sandhu’s murder.
With multiple claims now circulating online, investigators face the additional task of determining which, if any, of these posts or recordings are genuine and whether the people named in them have any actual connection with the attack.
The latest audio also reportedly contains a threat directed at Arupreet, described as a close associate and co-creator of Mad Sandhu.
Following reports of the threat, Arupreet is said to have restricted access to his social-media profile. The alleged threat has added a new security concern to an already sensitive investigation.
Police have not publicly confirmed who created or circulated the recording, and there has been no official finding establishing that the people named in the audio were responsible for the killing.
For that reason, the claims circulating online remain allegations and should not be treated as proof of involvement.
Mad Sandhu was killed in Amritsar on October 3 after being attacked by two unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants near Loharka Road.
Police Commissioner Harmanbir Singh Gill has said investigators have obtained important leads and that efforts are underway to identify and arrest those responsible.
Police teams have been analysing CCTV footage from the route believed to have been used by the attackers.
Investigators have examined footage from dozens of cameras in an effort to trace the motorcycle, identify the assailants and reconstruct their movements before and after the attack.
The murder investigation is also examining earlier threats and controversies involving Mad Sandhu.
He had previously faced criticism and online hostility over some of his social-media content, and investigators are looking into whether any earlier dispute or threat could have a connection with the killing.
However, no motive has yet been officially established.
The emergence of competing responsibility claims has complicated the case further.
Investigators will now have to establish whether the social-media posts and audio recordings were genuinely issued by the individuals whose names appear in them, whether they contain information only the perpetrators could know, and whether technical evidence links them to the attack.
Digital evidence, CCTV recordings, phone records and statements from people connected with Mad Sandhu are expected to play an important role as the investigation progresses.
The reported threat to Arupreet is also expected to be examined separately from the murder investigation, particularly from the perspective of his safety and the authenticity of the threatening message.
Police have not announced an arrest in the case at the time of publication.
The latest development therefore represents an important new lead, but not a final breakthrough.
Until investigators authenticate the viral material and establish a link through independent evidence, the claims of responsibility should remain treated as unverified assertions circulating on social media.
Police investigation into Mad Sandhu’s killing continues.
