Pathankot, October 3, 2026: Police have registered a case after a motorcycle mechanic was allegedly robbed of ₹15,000 in cash and his motorcycle near the Old Court area of Pathankot.
The complainant, Krishna Kumar, a resident of Bhadroa, told police that he works at a motorcycle repair shop and was travelling on his bike towards the Swimming Pool-Lamini side for personal work when he encountered a man he already knew along with another person.
According to the complaint, the man known to Krishna has been identified as Sunny Mafia, a resident of Preet Nagar. Krishna told investigators that Sunny had previously visited the shop where he worked to get motorcycles repaired, which is why the two were familiar with each other.
Krishna alleged that the two men signalled him to stop his motorcycle. He claimed that after he stopped, he was intimidated and Sunny took control of the bike.
The complainant alleged that he was made to sit on the motorcycle while the second man travelled with them, and they headed towards the Old Court area through Bhadroa.
According to his statement to police, once they reached near the Old Court, the second suspect allegedly produced a sharp-edged weapon and handed it to Sunny.
Krishna alleged that the men threatened him and demanded that he hand over whatever valuables he was carrying.
The suspects allegedly took ₹15,000 in cash from his wallet before also taking possession of his motorcycle. They then fled from the area, according to the complaint.
Krishna subsequently approached the police and reported the incident.
Acting on his complaint, Police Station Division No. 1, Pathankot, registered a case against Sunny Mafia and his unidentified associate and began investigating the allegations. The police station is part of the official Pathankot district police network.
Police teams are now working to trace the two suspects. According to the latest information, neither had been arrested at the time of the initial investigation, and searches were being conducted at possible locations connected with them.
Investigators are also expected to examine available evidence to establish the suspects’ movements before and after the incident and to locate the motorcycle allegedly taken from the complainant.
The case is being investigated on the basis of Krishna Kumar’s complaint, and the allegations against the named and unidentified accused will be determined through the legal process.
