Amritsar, October 19 : Punjab Congress in-charge Sachin Pilot, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Pargat Singh and senior Congress leader Sukhwinder Singh Danny Bandala visited Talwandi Malowal village in the Jandiala Guru constituency on Monday to meet the family of government school teacher Jagdeep Singh, who was murdered in broad daylight earlier this year. The leaders expressed their condolences and assured the bereaved family of their support in seeking justice.

Jagdeep Singh, a government school teacher from Talwandi Malowal, was killed near Naraingarh village in the Jandiala Guru area on June 1, 2026. The incident, in which unidentified attackers assaulted him during the daytime, raised serious concerns among local residents about public safety and the protection of ordinary citizens.

During their visit, Sachin Pilot and Pargat Singh interacted with the family members and listened to their concerns. The Congress leaders said the family's demand for justice must be addressed and urged the authorities to ensure that those responsible for the teacher's killing are brought to justice through a fair and thorough investigation.

Pargat Singh raised questions over the law-and-order situation in Punjab, saying that the killing of a teacher in broad daylight reflected serious security concerns. He criticised the Aam Aadmi Party-led Punjab government and called for stronger measures to protect residents from violent crime.

The Congress leadership maintained that incidents of this nature should not leave families struggling for justice. The leaders said ensuring public safety was a fundamental responsibility of the state government and that people should be able to travel, work and carry out their daily activities without fear.

Sachin Pilot also expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and emphasised the need for accountability in the investigation. He assured the family that the Congress party would continue supporting their demand for justice and raising concerns about public safety in Punjab.

Sukhwinder Singh Danny Bandala, who accompanied the delegation, also expressed sympathy with the family. The visiting leaders reiterated that the victim's relatives deserved answers and that the investigation should lead to appropriate legal action against those found responsible.

The visit comes as Congress leaders continue meeting families affected by serious criminal incidents across Punjab, using these interactions to highlight their concerns over law enforcement and the state government's handling of public security.

For Jagdeep Singh's family, the central concern remains justice for their loved one. The Congress delegation concluded its visit by reaffirming its support for the family and demanding effective steps to improve public safety across Punjab.
