Jalandhar, October 16, 2026: Newly appointed Aam Aadmi Party Jalandhar Cantt Halka In-charge Deepak Bali began his new responsibility on Friday by paying obeisance at religious places in the city, saying that living up to the expectations of people and addressing their concerns would remain among his key priorities.
Before formally beginning his constituency-level activities, Bali visited Gurdwara Sri Singh Sabha and Geeta Mandir in Model Town, where he paid obeisance and sought blessings. He said he would carry out the responsibility entrusted to him with dedication and sincerity.
Bali expressed gratitude to AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for entrusting him with the responsibility of Jalandhar Cantt. He said that every new responsibility comes with expectations from the public and that he would make efforts to live up to those expectations.
He said his focus would be on maintaining direct communication with residents, raising issues concerning the constituency and working towards their resolution. Bali also said he would work to strengthen coordination between party workers and ensure that government policies and programmes reach people at the grassroots level.
The Aam Aadmi Party appointed Bali as Jalandhar Cantt Halka In-charge on October 15, replacing Rajwinder Kaur Thiara. The organisational change has placed him in charge of coordinating the party’s activities across the Assembly constituency.
Bali said he would work with full commitment to fulfil the responsibility given to him by the party leadership. He added that strengthening the organisation and maintaining regular contact with residents would remain an important part of his work in the constituency.
Referring to the Punjab government’s performance, Bali said the AAP government had worked on commitments made to the public and expressed confidence in the party’s political programme. These remarks represented Bali’s political assessment and were made as part of his interaction after assuming the new responsibility.
Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat, along with party representatives and workers, was also present during the programme. Bali’s visits to the two religious places marked the beginning of his organisational and public outreach activities following his appointment in Jalandhar Cantt.
With the new responsibility, Bali is expected to coordinate party activities, interact with workers and remain engaged with civic and public issues across the Jalandhar Cantt constituency.
