Jalandhar, October 7, 2026: Preparations for programmes being organised to mark Bhagwan Valmiki Prakat Diwas were discussed during a large meeting held at Bhagwan Valmiki Temple in Sofi Pind under the Jalandhar Cantt constituency.

The meeting brought together workers and representatives associated with Bhagwan Valmiki Utsav Committee Punjab. It was organised by temple president Harjinder Bhatti, who welcomed the participating members and discussed arrangements for the religious programmes planned in connection with the occasion.

Vipin Sabharwal, president of Bhagwan Valmiki Utsav Committee Punjab and chairman of Valmiki Welfare Trust, Shakti Nagar, attended the meeting as the chief guest along with his associates. Harjinder Bhatti welcomed Sabharwal in the traditional manner by presenting him with a siropa.

During the gathering, Sabharwal shared details of the programmes proposed for October 15 at Bhagwan Valmiki Ashram in Shakti Nagar, Jalandhar. According to the organisers, the events have been planned as part of the observances connected with Bhagwan Valmiki Prakat Diwas and will include religious congregation, prayers and community service.

The programme is scheduled to begin with Valmiki Satsang from 8 am to 10 am at the Shakti Nagar ashram. Devotees and members of the community are expected to participate in the satsang and offer prayers on the occasion.

A havan yajna for world peace is scheduled to begin at 10 am following the satsang. Organisers said the prayer ceremony is intended to carry a message of peace, harmony and welfare for all sections of society.

The religious programme will be followed by a community langar at 1 pm, which will be open to devotees and visitors. Members of the committee are expected to assist with arrangements for the congregation, havan and distribution of langar.

During the Sofi Pind meeting, committee members also discussed coordination between workers and volunteers to ensure that the programmes are conducted in an organised manner. Responsibilities related to welcoming devotees, religious arrangements and community participation were among the matters discussed.

Sabharwal appealed to members of the community to participate in the programmes and said the occasion provides an opportunity to remember the teachings and message associated with Bhagwan Valmiki Maharaj.

Organisers said further coordination would continue ahead of the October 15 events so that devotees from different parts of Jalandhar can participate in the programmes at Bhagwan Valmiki Ashram, Shakti Nagar.

The meeting at Sofi Pind concluded with committee members expressing their commitment to collectively organise the Prakat Diwas programmes and encourage peaceful and inclusive participation from the community.
