Jalandhar, October 17, 2026: Health authorities carried out an inspection at a clinic in Tajpur village, falling under the Lambra police station area of Jalandhar, after concerns were raised over the documents under which the establishment was allegedly providing medical services.
The inspection was conducted under the supervision of Drug Inspector Amit Bansal. During the checking, officials asked the person operating the clinic to produce documents relating to his medical qualification, registration and authorisation connected with the services being provided at the premises.
According to the information available from the inspection, the operator was unable to present a medical degree or relevant licence to the team at that time. He reportedly told officials that his documents were kept at home.
Authorities did not treat the verbal explanation as sufficient to conclude the inspection and began examining the establishment’s records and the medicines kept on the premises.
The team also came across information concerning another healthcare centre associated with the operator’s wife. Officials subsequently extended their checking to that establishment as well to verify its documents and determine whether the required permissions and registrations were available.
The investigation is now expected to focus on whether valid medical qualifications and registrations actually exist, whether medicines were being stocked or supplied in accordance with applicable rules and whether the establishments were authorised to provide the services being offered.
Officials may also examine purchase bills, medicine records and other documents before deciding whether further departmental or legal proceedings are required.
Importantly, the operator’s inability to produce documents during the raid does not by itself establish that he has no qualification or licence. That question will depend on whether valid documents are subsequently produced and verified by the competent authorities.
Similarly, no conclusion should be drawn regarding the healthcare centre associated with his wife until its records and permissions have been examined.
Health authorities are expected to prepare their findings after completing document verification. Any further action will depend on what the inspection establishes and whether violations of medical or drug-control regulations are found.
The operation forms part of ongoing checks aimed at ensuring that clinics and healthcare establishments operate with the required qualifications, registrations and permissions.
