Mohali, October 7, 2026: Security agencies were put on alert in Mohali on Wednesday after four private schools received bomb threat emails, prompting immediate precautionary measures and extensive searches of the campuses.

The schools identified in the latest incident were Paragon School in Sector 71, Shivalik Public School, Vivek High School and Gian Jyoti School in Phase 2. School authorities informed police soon after receiving the threatening messages and began sending students home as a safety measure.

Parents were alerted through messages, and those whose children used private transport were asked to collect them from the respective schools. Regular academic activity was suspended while security teams inspected the premises.

Police, anti-sabotage teams and bomb-disposal personnel carried out checks inside classrooms, buildings and surrounding areas to rule out any immediate threat. Sniffer dogs were also deployed during the security operation.

Later updates indicated that no suspicious object or explosive material was recovered during the searches. The campuses were being cleared only after completion of the required security checks.

Police have also begun examining the electronic trail behind the threatening emails. Cyber teams are expected to analyse the sender details, technical information and other digital evidence in an attempt to identify the person or persons responsible.

Mohali has witnessed similar threat emails targeting schools and other public institutions earlier this year, leading authorities to treat every such message seriously even when previous incidents ultimately turned out to be hoaxes.

The latest incident caused concern among parents and students, but authorities said precautionary evacuation and detailed checks were carried out to ensure safety.

At the time of publication, no explosive material had been found and no arrest had been announced. Investigation into the source and authenticity of the threatening emails remains underway.
