Jalandhar, October 12, 2026: Jalandhar district’s final electoral roll has been published following the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026, putting the district’s total registered voter strength at 15,25,450.

The final list includes 7,78,194 male electors, 7,47,203 female electors and 53 third-gender electors. The voter population is spread across the district’s nine Assembly constituencies — Phillaur, Nakodar, Shahkot, Kartarpur, Jalandhar West, Jalandhar Central, Jalandhar North, Jalandhar Cantonment and Adampur.

The revised electoral roll has been prepared with October 1, 2026, as the qualifying date. This means eligible citizens meeting the prescribed voter-registration conditions with reference to that date were considered during the revision exercise.

The draft electoral roll had earlier been published on August 13, after which voters were given an opportunity to check their details and submit claims or objections. That window remained open until September 12, while cases arising during the notice stage were processed before the final publication.

Following completion of the exercise, election officials made the final electoral roll available and provided copies to representatives of recognised political parties. The exercise was aimed at updating voter records, processing eligible additions and corrections, and dealing with entries requiring verification.

Among the nine constituencies, Phillaur has the highest number of electors at 1,88,005, followed by Nakodar with 1,79,354 and Kartarpur with 1,77,096. Jalandhar Central has 1,47,645 registered electors, the lowest total among the district’s Assembly segments in the final roll.

Jalandhar West has 1,63,415 voters, while Jalandhar North records 1,68,009. Jalandhar Cantonment has 1,76,638 electors and Adampur has 1,56,895. Shahkot’s final voter strength stands at 1,68,393.

The publication of the final list is an important stage in updating Jalandhar’s electoral database ahead of future elections. It gives voters an opportunity to confirm whether their names and electoral particulars appear correctly in the revised roll.

Eligible citizens should not assume that possession of a voter ID card alone guarantees inclusion in the latest electoral roll. Voters are advised to check their name, constituency and polling details and use the prescribed registration or correction procedure if any discrepancy is found.

The final electoral roll can be checked through the official election system, while copies are also available through the District Election Office, Assembly constituency election offices and the concerned Booth Level Officers.
