Jalandhar, October 25: Punjab BJP Vice-President and former Jalandhar Mayor Rakesh Rathour congratulated the newly appointed office-bearers of the Bharatiya Janata Party's Jalandhar Urban district unit during a gathering held at his residence on Sunday. The occasion brought together several party leaders and workers to recognise the new responsibilities assigned to members of the district organisation.

Among those felicitated were Manish Vij, appointed District Vice-President; Amit Bhatia, named District Secretary; Sanjeev Sharma Mani, appointed District Morcha and Cell Coordinator; and Sahil Sharma, who has been given the responsibility of District President of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM). Rathour welcomed the newly appointed leaders by presenting them with ceremonial chunris and offering sweets as a gesture of congratulations. Former BJP Jalandhar District President Raman Pabbi was also present.

Addressing the gathering, Rathour said that receiving a position within a political organisation was not merely a matter of recognition but also came with considerable responsibility. He expressed confidence that the newly appointed office-bearers would work sincerely to fulfil the expectations of the party leadership while maintaining close coordination with grassroots workers.

Rathour emphasised that organisational responsibilities require consistent effort, teamwork and a willingness to remain connected with people at the local level. He encouraged the new district leaders to strengthen communication among party workers, support organisational programmes and ensure that the party's policies and initiatives reach people across Jalandhar.

Speaking about the BJP's organisational structure, the former mayor described dedicated workers and collective efforts as essential elements of the party's functioning. He said the experience and active participation of the new office-bearers would help improve coordination between different wings of the district unit and provide additional momentum to its activities.

Rathour also urged the office-bearers to give priority to public service while carrying out their organisational duties. He maintained that individuals entrusted with party positions should remain accessible to workers and residents, listen to local concerns and work towards addressing public issues through the appropriate channels.

The gathering also provided an opportunity for the newly appointed leaders to interact with senior party members. Those present congratulated Manish Vij, Amit Bhatia, Sanjeev Sharma Mani and Sahil Sharma on their appointments and extended their wishes for a successful tenure in their respective roles.

Other attendees included Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha District General Secretary Neeraj Gupta, along with Surya Mishra, Varun Dubey, Vishal, Abhi, Bhatti and several BJP workers. The event concluded with party members expressing their support for the new district team and its upcoming organisational responsibilities.
