Jalandhar, October 30: The Jalandhar administration on Friday carried out action at a property in Tej Mohan Nagar, located in the Basti Sheikh area, as part of its ongoing efforts against properties allegedly linked to drug-related activities.
Police Commissioner Satinder Singh, while sharing details of the action, said that the police were also examining sensitive locations and areas identified as hotspots. He stated that action against individuals allegedly involved in drug-related activities would continue.
According to the Police Commissioner, the property belonged to Gagandeep Singh, also known as Gaggi. Police said that he had allegedly been involved in illegal drug-related activities in the area and was arrested for the second time under the NDPS Act in August this year. He is currently lodged in Kapurthala Jail, with seven NDPS-related cases registered against him, according to the police.
The Police Commissioner also mentioned that the approximately 70-year-old property was in a dilapidated condition. The house was reportedly built by the accused's grandfather, and his family, including his wife, two sons and a young daughter, had been living there.
Meanwhile, Municipal Corporation official Sandeep Kumar said that a notice had previously been issued to the property owner over alleged building violations. However, no response was received from the owner, following which action was initiated under the leadership of the Police Commissioner.
