Jalandhar | October 30, 2026 : Two schools in Punjab’s Jalandhar district received bomb threat emails on Friday morning, raising security concerns across the city in the run-up to Diwali. Despite the alarming nature of the threats, neither institution has declared a holiday, and academic activities have continued uninterrupted.

With the festival of Diwali approaching, militant outfits are attempting to vitiate the atmosphere and disrupt peace in Punjab. The threatening emails received by the school administrations carried a chilling message urging authorities to "save the children" present on the campuses.

According to an internal source at Apeejay School, staff members were alerted to the threatening email early in the morning and immediately notified local law enforcement. However, police teams had yet to reach either school campus to initiate search operations, and school authorities decided against suspending classes.

Educational institutions across the city have repeatedly been targeted with similar intimidation tactics in recent months. Several schools in Jalandhar have received bomb threat emails on more than five occasions previously, with members of Khalistani outfits sending the threatening messages each time.
