Jalandhar, October 30: Shiv Sena Samajwadi has raised concerns over the alleged sale of adulterated sweets in Jalandhar and demanded strict action from the Health Department to ensure the safety of consumers.
Members of the organisation submitted a memorandum to the Civil Surgeon, drawing attention to the issue of food adulteration and urging the department to take immediate steps to check the quality of sweets being sold in the city.
Through the memorandum, the organisation demanded regular inspections of sweet shops and places where sweets are prepared and supplied. It also called for the collection and testing of samples to identify any products that fail to meet prescribed food safety standards.
The representatives urged the health authorities to take strict legal action against shopkeepers and manufacturers found violating food safety regulations. They also stressed the need for continuous monitoring to prevent the sale of substandard or unsafe sweets in the market.
The organisation said that protecting public health should remain a priority and that consumers should be able to purchase sweets without worrying about their quality and safety.
Shiv Sena Samajwadi appealed to the Civil Surgeon to take the memorandum seriously and ensure that appropriate action is initiated by the concerned authorities.
