Riyadh, October 11, 2026: A missile attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh has left at least 12 people dead and 309 injured, while air traffic across the Saudi capital has faced major disruption.

The attack struck near the airport complex, prompting an immediate emergency response and the deployment of security and medical teams. Several of the injured were taken to hospitals across Riyadh for treatment.

Authorities temporarily restricted operations at the airport following the incident as security teams assessed the affected areas and carried out safety checks.

The Saudi-led coalition blamed the attack on Yemen’s Houthi movement. The incident comes amid a sharp escalation in regional tensions and repeated threats against aviation and civilian infrastructure.

Flight operations were severely affected after the attack. Hundreds of services were cancelled, delayed or rerouted as airlines adjusted schedules in response to the security situation.

Available aviation data indicated that around 260 flights were cancelled on Saturday alone, with further disruption continuing into Sunday. Because schedules were changing rapidly, passengers were advised to check directly with their airlines before travelling.

The attack has also affected international passengers using Riyadh as a transit hub, with several airlines adjusting routes or temporarily suspending services.

India condemned the attack on civilian infrastructure and expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia, while also conveying condolences to the families of those killed and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.

The incident has renewed concerns over the safety of major aviation hubs in the Gulf as the wider regional conflict continues to affect civilian travel and commercial operations.

Security has been strengthened around King Khalid International Airport, and authorities are continuing to monitor the situation closely.

Travellers heading to or from Riyadh have been advised to confirm flight status before leaving for the airport because delays, cancellations and route changes may continue.
