Mumbai, October 1, 2026: Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt is set to share the stage with an impressive lineup of Indian and international personalities at the Earthshot Prize 2026 Awards Night, scheduled to take place in Mumbai on November 17.
Bhatt has been confirmed as one of the award presenters for the high-profile environmental event, which will bring together figures from film, music, sport and environmental leadership from across the world.
The Mumbai ceremony will also feature Oscar-winning actor Rami Malek, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and actor Sonam Kapoor as award presenters.
Indian playback singer Shreya Ghoshal is scheduled to perform during the evening, while actor Simone Ashley will also take to the stage as a performer.
Filmmaker Karan Johar will host the Awards Night, which is expected to welcome around 5,000 guests.
Environmental advocates Robert Irwin and Nomzamo Mbatha, who serve as Earthshot ambassadors, will also participate in the Mumbai event. More names are expected to be announced closer to the ceremony.
Alia Bhatt said the initiative represents hope backed by ideas and action, highlighting the importance of people working to develop new solutions to environmental challenges.
The 2026 ceremony will mark the first time the Earthshot Prize Awards Night is being held in India. Mumbai joins previous host cities including London, Boston, Singapore, Cape Town and Rio de Janeiro.
The environmental initiative was founded by Prince William in 2020 with the aim of identifying and supporting innovative solutions capable of addressing major challenges facing the planet.
Fifteen finalists have been selected for the 2026 edition across five major environmental categories — protecting and restoring nature, cleaning the air, reviving the oceans, building a waste-free world and addressing climate change.
At the Mumbai ceremony, five winners will each receive £1 million to help expand and accelerate their environmental solutions.
India also has representation among this year's finalists. The selected projects span areas including clean transportation, climate resilience, conservation, waste reduction and new technologies designed to tackle environmental problems.
The Awards Night will also have a significantly larger global reach this year. The ceremony is scheduled to be streamed internationally across more than 240 countries and territories and in over 40 languages.
Alongside the awards ceremony, Mumbai will host a wider programme bringing together environmental innovators, investors, business leaders and philanthropists to explore ways of expanding promising climate and nature solutions.
With Bollywood stars, global entertainers, sporting icons and environmental innovators coming together on one stage, the November event is expected to place Mumbai at the centre of an international conversation around climate innovation and sustainable solutions.
