NEW DELHI, October 11, 2026: Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has rescheduled his upcoming Delhi concert from November 1 to October 30, taking the show forward by two days following concerns over the historical significance of November 1 for the Sikh community.

The Delhi show, part of Diljit’s Aura India Tour, is scheduled to take place at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. It had originally been planned for November 1, but the date drew attention because it coincides with the anniversary period of the 1984 anti-Sikh violence in Delhi, which remains a deeply painful chapter for thousands of affected families.

Rajya Sabha MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney had publicly appealed to Diljit and the concert organisers to reconsider the November 1 date. Sahney said that while Diljit represents Punjabi music and culture on the global stage, the sentiments of families who lost relatives during the 1984 violence should also be respected.

Following the appeal, the Delhi concert has now been shifted to Friday, October 30, 2026, two days ahead of its previously announced schedule.

Sahney welcomed the decision and thanked Diljit for responding to the concerns raised over the date. He described the move as a sensitive gesture towards families who continue to remember the victims of the violence.

The decision does not affect the Delhi venue, with the concert still planned for Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium as part of the singer’s large-scale India leg of the Aura Tour.

Diljit’s Aura Tour is expected to travel through several major Indian cities, including Indore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Lucknow and Chandigarh after the Delhi performance.

The Delhi concert has attracted major interest among fans following Diljit’s successful international performances and his growing presence at some of the world’s largest music venues.

The change in date, however, gives the opening India show an additional emotional context. November 1 is associated with the beginning of some of the worst violence against Sikhs in Delhi following the assassination of then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1984.

For many families affected by those events, the period remains one of remembrance and mourning. Sahney’s appeal was therefore focused on changing the timing of the entertainment event rather than opposing the concert itself.

By shifting the performance to October 30, Diljit and the organisers have avoided holding the major celebration on the sensitive anniversary date while allowing the Delhi leg of the tour to proceed.

Fans holding tickets for the Delhi show should closely monitor official ticketing communication regarding the revised date, entry timings and any ticket-related instructions, particularly while online listings are being updated.

The rest of the Aura India Tour is expected to continue according to its announced schedule, unless organisers issue further changes.
